The first Yappetizers & Wine event at Dirty Dogs in Cardiff was a barking success. On Wednesday, May 22nd from 5-8pm in the Dirty Dogs closed it’s self-serve tubs and hosted more than 65 customers, local businesses and dog owners in North County for a wine tasting, dog food sampling and socializing event.
Yappetizers & Wine has been a tradition for Dirty Dogs. The first Yappetizers was at the Torrey Hills store in 2009. The goal of the event was to invite local dog owners and customers to the store to socialize with their four-legged family members and sample excellent dog food and treats.
The event has come a long way. The recent Yappetizers boasted professional wine tasting put on by California Fruit Wines with a custom wine cocktail, the Dirty Dog, for sale. We also invited The Dog Shack, a gourmet hot dog food truck to serve up a special hot dog also aptly titled the Dirty Dog. Also in attendance were the friends of the Cardiff dog park who were selling T-shirts and giving aways free tattoos and stickers to raise awareness for the newly refurbished park.
Dirty Dogs food vendors, Sojos dehydrated raw dog food and Stella & Chewy’s served up gourmet dog food samples and educated attendees about the benefits of raw diets. We’re not sure which line was more fierce, the line for the dog food or the line for the wine 
Dirty Dogs contributed 100% of beer and wine sales and raffle ticket sales to the Cardiff Dog Park. Raffle items included a Sojos gift basket, a Stella & Chewy’s gift basket, a $35 Dirty Dogs gift card and a Cardiff Dog Park t-shirt.
Dirty Dogs is planning to rotate Yappetizer events at each store, every month, all summer long. The next Yappetizers will be at Dirty Dogs in Torrey Hills on Thursday, June 27th from 5-8pm. Don’t miss it!
